Wharton Essentials of Finance Program

This summer, I had the chance to attend the Wharton Essentials of Finance program at UPenn, and it was one of the most exciting academic experiences I’ve had so far. From exploring financial markets and valuation to working on case studies and stock pitches, each day offered something new and challenging.

One of the highlights was hearing from Wharton professors and leaders, including Professor Jules van Binsbergen, whose lecture on asset pricing and long-term investing really stuck with me. We also got to hear from Dean Erika James, which made the experience feel even more connected to Wharton's bigger mission and leadership.

For our final project, my team was assigned Evercore for a stock pitch. After a lot of research and back-and-forth, we were honored to receive the “Best Rationale” award—one of four special prizes. I even got a Wharton water bottle as a prize, which now sits on my desk as a reminder of the week.

More than anything, this program confirmed my interest in finance and made me even more excited about where I might study and grow next.
