As the Treasurer of Helping Hands and the Founder of the Chinese Club, I’m incredibly thankful to have both of my mini-grant proposals selected by the KIS High School PTO. I personally wrote and submitted these proposals, and I’m truly honored that our ideas were recognized and supported. A big thank you to the PTO for believing in our mission and helping student-led projects grow.
For Helping Hands, this grant means we can continue building a more inclusive and compassionate school community. With the funds, we’ll purchase new basketballs for our sessions with individuals with special needs, as well as materials for our English Dolbom Program. We’ll also use part of the grant to add a personal touch to our year-end gift drive for elderly individuals in our community by preparing thoughtful cards and wrapping.
For Chinese Club the goal of the mini-grant is to enhance club activities and cultural outreach by purchasing traditional Chinese games and materials (e.g., mahjong set, Go set, table tennis set, and oil paper umbrellas). These will be used in regular club meetings for interactive cultural learning and during the 2026 Lunar New Year celebration to host an engaging booth for the wider school community. The materials are intended for long-term reuse to promote sustained cultural education and appreciation.
