This summer was full of firsts, and I loved every minute of it. I went to New York City for the first time with my sister, and we tried to pack in as much as we could. We went to Wall Street and took a photo at the Charging Bull, walked the Brooklyn Bridge, saw the famous pigeon statue, grabbed slices at Joe’s Pizza, and stopped by Times Square to see the lights and chaos in real life. There’s nothing like the energy of New York. It really does feel like the center of the world.
From there, I took the Amtrak to Philadelphia for a program at Wharton, and after my finance summer program, I ended the trip in Washington, DC. There I finally saw the White House in person. I also went to the Washington Monument and celebrated July 4th with fireworks lighting up the sky. It felt pretty surreal to be in the nation’s capital for Independence Day.
Looking back, this summer gave me a little bit of everything: city life, college life, and moments I won’t forget.
