Harvard International Review Academic Writing Contest Gold Medal

I am thrilled to announce that I was awarded the Gold Medal for the Harvard International Review Academic Writing Contest for my article "Small Islands, Big Seabed: How Pacific Sponsors are Shaping the Global Commons." My article examines how small Pacific Island nations such as Nauru, Tonga, and Kiribati, have become surprisingly influential in shaping international deep-sea mining governance. Under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), these nations can sponsor companies to explore and exploit minerals in international waters managed by the International Seabed Authority (ISA).
