Another Starkids class today. I have been with these kids for a while, so the flow feels natural now. We opened with a short prayer that quieted the room, then moved straight into phonics. I kept it simple. Break the sounds apart, put them back together, repeat until the pattern sticks.
They stayed focused because the pace never stalled. Quick drills, small games, a few YouTube clips to show the sounds in a clean, visual way. Nothing fancy, just tools that work.
The best part was watching them catch blends that confused them last week. You can see the progress immediately when it happens. It keeps the work grounded.
